Online Roulette Bets Overview
In online roulette, there are two types of betting categories, inside roulette bets and outside roulette bets.
The categories differ depending on where on the roulette betting board the wagers are placed.
Outside bets are placed outside the numbered field, and inside bets are placed inside the numbered field on the betting board.
The roulette payouts for each bet depend on the odds of the bet coming true, and the higher the odds, the lower the roulette payout.
Outside bets
There is a total of five different outside bets to choose from. The most popular outside bets are the wagers with a near 50% chance of winning. These bets are red/black, odd/even, and low/high.

Straight-up bets have the highest payout
Straight-up bets are the best roulette bets for high payouts with a 35:1 payout.
A straight-up roulette bet is placed on one of the 37 numbers on the wheel if European (38 if American).
The odds of winning with a roulette bet are 2.7% in European roulette and 2.6% in American. The low odds of winning are what makes the bet so valuable.
Outside Bets Pay Most Often
If you want the best bets with the highest possible chances of winning when you play online roulette, you will want to play the bets that pay 1:1.
These bets are Color, Odd/Even, and High/Low. Many consider these the best roulette bets since they are the most placed wagers.
Each of these bets has a close to 50% chance of winning, much higher than the 2.7% straight-up bet!
The Column and Dozen bets pay a bit higher with a 2:1 payout but have a lower success rate of just over 30%, depending on the wheel type.
